How the Exam Actually Works
Each paper is worth 100 marks, with a 3-hour duration. Under the current pattern, 70% of each paper is descriptive (long-form answers) and 30% is objective, including case-study-based MCQs — a deliberate mix that tests both memorised knowledge and real-world application. There’s no negative marking on the objective portion.
To pass: a candidate needs a minimum of 40% in each individual paper, and at least 50% aggregate across the papers in that group.
Why Intermediate Is Considered the Toughest Stage
